The Curlews Cottage has been a well-loved family retreat for 25 years, carefully restored and thoughtfully extended to preserve its traditional charm while offering modern comforts. As a place the owners regularly enjoy themselves, it’s been equipped with everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay.
The cottage is both cosy and practical—perfect for those who love the great outdoors. Whether you're heading out for a day of hiking, cycling, or exploring the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this is a warm and welcoming base to return to.
Full of character and history, the cottage retains original features like beamed ceilings, flagstone floors, and a wood-burning fire, creating an inviting retreat after a day outdoors. At the same time, modern touches and smart design ensure a comfortable and convenient stay for walkers, cyclists, families, and dog owners.

Inside the Cottage
Lounge
A cosy, characterful space with exposed beams, flagstone floors, and a wood-burning fire—perfect for curling up with a book after a long day on the hills. Two comfortable sofas offer plenty of space to unwind.
Kitchen/Diner
A light-filled, spacious kitchen and dining area with an extendable solid oak dining table (seats up to 6), modern appliances, and sliding patio doors that let in fresh air and natural light. These doors provide access to a small seating area in front of the cottage, where you can enjoy a morning coffee or evening drink.
Bedrooms
The cottage features three beautifully furnished bedrooms, each designed for comfort and relaxation. The main double is a spacious room with countryside views, a solid oak bed, and a cosy vintage sofa—perfect for unwinding after a day outdoors. The second double, located in the barn extension, boasts exposed beams, oak flooring, and a charming vintage chair in the window with views over the fields. The twin room includes two solid oak single beds and stylish storage, making it ideal for both children and adults.
Bathrooms
A stylish ground floor bathroom with a modern walk-in shower, WC, and heated towel rail. Upstairs, a newly added WC and basin provide extra convenience.
Outside
Outside, a small seating area sits just in front of the cottage and can be accessed either through the front door or the sliding patio doors from the kitchen. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee or an evening drink while taking in the peaceful surroundings. Additional outdoor chairs are stored in the woodshed for your use.
